Argentina's Digital Nomad Visa Announced World's 2nd Best - VisaGuide.News  VisaGuide.World

Argentina has the best digital nomad visa policy in North and South America, and the second best in the world, just after Spain, a new ranking has revealed.

The newly released VisaGuide.World Digital Nomad Index has announced the Argentinian policy for digital nomads as the second most convenient in the world for those wishing to work while living abroad. The index has concluded the results based on several factors like health score, taxes required to pay, minimum income, living costs, internet speed, etc.

The ranking points out that Argentina’s Digital Nomad Visa, which was first introduced on May 21, 2022, has turned out to be very alluring for nomads, in particular due to fact that nomads can live completely tax-free throughout their entire period of stay in the country, VisaGuide.World reports.

Commenting on the ranking, Lum Kamishi, project manager at VisaGuide.World notes that in the past 1.5 years since this visa was introduced in Argentina, the country’s authorities have shown they are determined to make use of it, by attracting nomads through various very enticing offers.

Unlike some other countries, Argentina has taken seriously the capacity that a Digital Nomad Visa can have in boosting the economy. It’s no tax policy for the entire stay, its relatively low minimum income required, extra low living costs, and a high health score compared to other countries in this index, make Argentina extremely alluring and convenient for every Digital Nomad.

According to him, the high internet speed and popularity that Argentina has amongst tourists, are two additional factors that make this visa even more sought-after.

Four other countries in South America offer Digital Nomad Visas, though none of them approaches Argentina in its attractiveness. These countries and their rankings are as follows:

  • Uruguay – ranks seventh with offering a tax-free stay for the entire duration of the visa, with no minimum amount of income required and living costs averaging at €812.
  • Ecuador – listed 31 with a tax of 35 per cent of income, the highest amongst all other countries, without any tax-free period, like some other offer. The minimum amount required to obtain this visa is only €1,350 while living costs are asserted to be €489.
  • Brazil – is listed 32nd, immediately after Ecuador, though it has a lower tax of 17 to 20 per cent. In addition, it enables nomads to stay for six first months without any taxes at all. It also has an internet speed of 172.2, with minimum income required and asserted living costs at €1,500 and €523 respectively.
  • Colombia is the last South American countries with a Digital Nomad visa. It is listed 33rd, offering remote workers a tax-free stay of six month, and an income tax of 17 to 20 per cent after this period.

The first position is also occupied by a Hispanic country, Spain. The latter has emerged as the most convenient destination for digital nomads who wish to work abroad. While Argentina occupies the second position, Romania is listed third, the United Arab Emirates fourth, and Croatia fifth.
