Expert shares 'game-changing' packing tip - wrinkle-free method to save space  Express

Heading home for Christmas? Struggling to fit everything in a Ryanair specified suitcase? Don’t worry because a packing expert has shared their best tips for a winter getaway.

Matthew Corrigan, CEO of Trtl Travel, explained how he manages to fit everything in a small suitcase.

A favourite technique among packing experts, Matthew favours the rolling method when it comes to clothing.

He said: “Rolling your clothes is not just a space-saving technique, it’s a game-changer for keeping your clothes neat and wrinkle-free during your trip.

“The rolling method allows you to maximise every nook and cranny in your suitcase. Plus, when you arrive at your destination, your outfits are ready to go without the need for ironing or dealing with pesky creases.”

The rolling method usually allows holidaymakers to fit more in their suitcase and is particularly helpful when it comes to packing bulky winter clothing.

However, if it doesn’t appeal, Matthew did suggest another packing technique for holidaymakers running low on space.

He said: “The bundling method is a clever way to pack your clothes efficiently and reduce wrinkles.

“Start with your most wrinkle-prone items on the outside, like dress shirts, linen blouses or satin skirts. Then, layer your other clothes on top, folding them all together into a bundle.”

Bundling clothes should help to protect the most likely to wrinkle clothes from getting crumpled.

If all else fails, Matthew recommends investing in some packing cubes for an easy and stress-free packing solution.

He said: “Packing cubes are nifty organisers that come in various sizes and keep your clothes, shoes and accessories neatly organised and separated.

“Say goodbye to digging through your suitcase, trying to find that missing sock!”

Families might find packing cubes particularly useful as the cubes can be placed straight into a chest of drawers.
