Cairo has some stunning luxurious spas that are a much-needed oasis of calm in the bustling city.

Try some decadent oriental treatments and fragrant local oils to unwind from the Cairo craziness at these restful sanctuaries.

Or take a plunge in a swimming pool with Nile views followed by a dip in a warm sauna.

Cairo’s 5-star spas are always a good idea.

And they’re often a bargain compared to their US and European counterparts. Which means you can unwind with a Swedish massage or a facial at a fraction of the price you’d pay at the same hotel chains in the West.

I’m an expat living in Cairo for the past decade and counting. And I love a good spa day to melt my worries away and catch a breather from city life.

I’ve sampled a half dozen different spas across Cairo over the years – including a few overpriced duds (that I won’t mention).

And this is my ultimate list of my absolute favorites. These are the facilities that have never disappointed, rated on service, atmosphere, location and experience.

Table of Contents

Best spas in Cairo:

1. Resense Spa at The Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski

Resense Spa is an old-world atmospheric feast for the senses with its European paintings, heavy drapes and fragrant treatments.

From the pre-Raphaelite portraits in the treatment rooms to the mosaic-studded jacuzzi room, Resense Spa is indulgent, opulent and regal.

Treatments include hammam and steam room experiences, Arabian-inspired massages and scrubs along with staples like Swedish and Thai massages.

The spa includes eight treatment rooms, and separate saunas, steam rooms and an indoor pool for your use (before or after your treatment).

What I love: the lavish and bold decor, the fragrant oils and the outstanding service.

2. Heavenly Spa at The Westin Cairo Golf Resort

Heavenly Spa is light and airy with treatment rooms looking out into small gardens and relaxation spaces full of palms and sunshine.

It’s spacious and breezy with an enormous indoor pool and tall windows facing the swaying palm trees.

Treatments include body scrubs, facials and all the traditional massages with lots of options for couples and weddings too. Treatment rooms are filled with natural light and the sounds of small garden fountains.

Heavenly Spa also has beautiful relaxation spaces to unwind after your treatment with cozy lounge chairs and refreshing snacks alongside windows with flowing drapes.

What I love: the elegant yet minimal decor, the infusion of outdoor spaces and the enormous indoor pool.

3. Semiramis Spa at Semiramis InterContinental

Semiramis Spa is a recently-opened oasis in the heart of downtown with sleek marble interiors and an outdoor pool with Nile views.

This award-winning spa is small but mighty with cozy jacuzzis, an indoor pool and quiet treatment rooms that offer a full menu of treatments.

It’s a serene oasis in the heart of downtown with a show-stopping pool that looks out over the Nile River and the Cairo Tower in the distance.

What I love: the serenity right in central Cairo, the downtown views from the swimming pool.
