HCMC among top Asian destinations for ‘slow travel’: Agoda

The others in the list are Khao Lak in Thailand, Seoul in South Korea, Perhentian Islands in Malaysia, Tokyo in Japan, Siargao Island in the Philippines, Pekanbaru in Indonesia, and Ahmedabad in India.

To compile the list, Agoda analyzed the average length of stay at tourist destinations based on its booking data in the first three months of this year.

To enjoy a slow holiday in HCMC, tourists can start with a traditional ca phe sua da, the Vietnamese-style iced coffee with condensed milk, in the morning, before seeking a quiet spot at Tao Dan, one of the city’s oldest parks.

Searches for slow travel have tripled in the last five years, according to data from Google Trends.

Slow travel encourages visitors to stay longer at their destination and allows them to create deeper connections with the local culture and people.
