How To Get Hyatt Privé Rates and Perks
4 min readThere’s a little known secret in the travel industry that as a frequent traveler of 10 years, I’m a little embarrassed to admit I only recently found out about.
There’s a MUCH better way to book hotels than through a typical OTA (booking, Expedia, etc.), or even than booking direct, it’s via a travel advisor who has access to Hyatt Privé.
“Hyatt Privé is a collective of travel advisors who work in concert with participating Hyatt hotels and resorts to deliver extraordinary travel experiences to their premium clientele.”
These are the benefits you get at no extra cost when booking a room via Hyatt Privé:
- Room upgrade priority.
- Early check in and late check out priority.
- Daily complimentary full breakfast at a hotel restaurant for up to two guests.
- Welcome amenity.
- Resort credit valid for certain incidentals (like meals) during the stay. Amount varies by hotel.
- Earn two (2) Tier-Qualifying Night credits for every $5,000 (USD) spent in eligible room rates.
In case you’re wondering, yes, you still get all the benefits of booking directly with Hyatt, like membership rewards points and your existing status, as well as qualifying nights towards earning higher status.
These benefits are all at no extra cost above the standard rate. While room upgrades and early check in may not always be available if traveling during peak season or holidays, the free breakfast, resort credits, welcome amenity, and qualifying night credit perks are always on offer!
Participating Hyatt Hotels
These benefits are available at most Park Hyatt, Miraval, Andaz, Thompson Hotels when staying for one night.
Alila, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Destination by Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric, JdV by Hyatt, Dream Hotels, all have these benefits for staying for two nights or more.
Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara, Impression by Secrets, Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts, Secrets Resorts & Spas, and Dreams Resorts & Spas require a four night minimum for benefits.
Thinking of booking a weekend away in Big Sur at the Alila Ventana? Privé benefits would apply. Dreaming of a night or several at the famous Park Hyatt Tokyo? You could benefit from a room upgrade and late check out, depending on availability.
How to Access Hyatt Privé Benefits
Hyatt Privé is a collective of travel advisors who have to be invited to participate in the program, so Privé rates and benefits can only be accessed via a travel advisor (like me!).
I became a travel advisor so that I could help readers get benefits like these, and have a better travel experience than you could otherwise get through usual booking means.
You can email me your dates and desired hotel and I’ll happily get you booked easily and at no extra cost to you.
Is Privé Always The Best Way to Book Hyatt?
There are some situations where Privé might make less sense. Let’s say you have Globalist status (the highest status Hyatt offers), which already gets you many of these perks. It may still make sense to have an agent working with your hotel to get you the best possible room, but some of the Hyatt member rates may be lower, and you already get many of these perks from your loyalty.
It’s also possible that some direct member rates are lower than the Privé rates, though it’s worth asking your travel advisor if they can work directly with the hotel to get a preferred rate and perks. It may be possible. It may also be a better value to book the Privé rate since it comes with resort credits, free breakfast, and the potential for a room upgrade.
Sometimes similar benefits are available through Virtuoso, or American Express’ Fine Hotels and Resorts program, provided you hold an American Express Platinum Card, or Capital One’s Travel Portal, provided you hold a Capital One Venture card. I tend to find the rates are higher on most of these than through Privé, but on a case by case basis.
You may also have the ability to book a room with points. If you have Hyatt or Chase points and are looking for the best way to apply them towards a big trip, this is another service I offer and can help with.
All of that said, Privé is a great way to book the best rooms while getting a shot at an upgrade for free, along with extra perks you can’t otherwise access, and having a travel advisor to help get you these perks and leverage their personal relationships with Hyatt at no extra cost can be a huge benefit.
I only wish I’d known about it much sooner!
