Together for Slow Travel: Austria, Slovenia and Croatia promote in the USA  Aviation.Direct

The countries of Austria, Slovenia and Croatia have joined forces to conquer the American travel market as slow travel destinations.

Under the motto “From the Alps to the Adriatic”, they presented themselves together for the first time at the Signature Travel Network Sales Conference in Las Vegas in November 2024. The cooperation is intended to appeal in particular to US travelers who are looking for authentic and sustainable experiences away from mass tourism.

The “Alps-Adriatic” region combines the Alpine landscapes of southern Austria, the green forests and modern culinary offerings of Slovenia, as well as the Adriatic coast and inland Croatia. With a focus on enjoyment, culture and nature, the concept of slow travel is promoted, with longer stays and conscious travel planning being the main focus. The culinary diversity, from slow food villages to Michelin restaurants, is a central element of the application.

A joint paid content article with *Condé Nast Traveler* as well as events and campaigns underline the cooperation, which is initiated by the European Travel Commission (ETC) and co-financed by the EU. The region is recommended as a destination for at least twelve days to experience the diverse landscapes and cultures. The aim is to further expand the potential of the US market, which is already one of the most important long-distance markets for Croatia.
