South Caicos, one of the lesser-known gems of the Turks and Caicos archipelago, offers visitors an unspoiled Caribbean experience with pristine white-sand beaches, world-class bonefishing, and an undeniable sense of adventure. It is a destination for those seeking to travel beyond the beaten path, embracing the charm and seclusion of an untouched paradise.

Unlike the bustling hub of Providenciales, islands like Ambergris Cay, North Caicos, and South Caicos provide a remote and intimate experience. And soon, reaching this remote haven will be easier than ever. Beginning March 15, American Airlines will launch its highly anticipated direct flights from Miami to South Caicos, marking the island’s first-ever direct air service from the United States. This twice-weekly service, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays, will make the island far more accessible to travelers seeking exclusivity and luxury.

Flight Costs and Booking Information

With demand surging for this new travel route, fares are currently priced at approximately $1,238 per person in the Main Cabin for flights in March, while business-class tickets cost around $1,749 roundtrip. The flight duration from Miami to South Caicos is approximately two hours, offering a seamless journey to this secluded island retreat.

For accommodations, Salterra is now open for bookings, with rates starting at around $1,300 per night for a deluxe room. As South Caicos gains increased accessibility and recognition, it is poised to become a sought-after luxury destination in the Caribbean, offering visitors an unparalleled blend of tranquility, adventure, and world-class hospitality.

The arrival of direct flights coincides with the debut of Salterra, a high-end resort that recently entered its soft-opening phase as part of Marriott’s esteemed Luxury Collection. Salterra promises to redefine the island’s hospitality with its refined accommodations, personalized services, and breathtaking oceanfront location. The resort offers a mix of deluxe rooms and suites, all designed to immerse guests in the natural beauty of South Caicos while providing world-class luxury.

For those seeking an established retreat, Sailrock Resort has been a staple on the island since 2017. This tranquil hideaway boasts a blend of traditional hotel rooms and private villas, each offering panoramic views of the turquoise waters. Guests at Sailrock can indulge in an array of amenities, including gourmet dining, spa treatments, and guided excursions that highlight the island’s marine wonders.

Beyond South Caicos, the renowned Ambergris Cay resort enhances the region’s exclusivity by offering seamless connections from the newly established American Airlines route. Guests booking a stay at Ambergris Cay can now arrive in South Caicos and transfer to the resort via a swift 10-minute private flight, included in the room rate. Alternatively, the resort also operates flights from Providenciales, taking approximately 20 minutes.

Ambergris Cay is widely regarded as one of the premier private-island resorts in the Caribbean, known for its impeccable service, fine dining, and luxurious accommodations. One of its standout features is the floating bar, an idyllic spot where guests can sip cocktails while enjoying uninterrupted ocean views. The resort’s all-inclusive offerings, combined with its exclusivity and unmatched hospitality, make it a top choice for discerning travelers.
