Digital nomad life is becoming increasingly popular, with 40 million remote workers worldwide opting to pack up their laptops and take their work abroad. In 2025, more than 60 countries offer digital nomad visas, enabling visa holders to live and work legally in the country for an extended period. Yet, the terms and conditions for each destination differ, with some offering up to 90 days of visa-free access, while others, like Thailand, allow visas to be renewed for a longer period.

All options look tempting, but where should you begin? International e-sim provider Holafly has helped narrow down this lengthy list into a handful of the best locations to consider for our next digital nomad adventures.

Holafly’s methodology takes into account various factors that may influence our work abroad, such as visa access, internet costs, mobile internet speed, public workspace availability, cost of living, healthcare, and lifestyle. Each city’s final score is calculated as the average of these metrics.

According to Holafly’s research, these are the digital nomad destinations for UK citizens.

5. Taipei, Taiwan

Taipei scores highly on visa access, as you can go visa-free for 90 days, not to mention the high internet speed and low monthly internet costs. However, rent is moderate, and the city doesn’t have as many public workspaces as some of the others on the list. The seven-hour time difference is something to consider for those taking meetings on UK time. But Taipei’s lifestyle makes it a worthy contender, offering affordable and efficient healthcare. Overall, this is an incredible metropolis to explore, plus a convenient base for travel plans to neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia.

4. Prague, Czech Republic

This central European city scores well on Holafly’s safety and affordability metrics, especially with its low monthly internet costs, which remote workers can enjoy. Lower crime rates than other major European cities, such as Paris or Berlin, also make Prague more liveable. Additionally, with a visa-free stay of 90 days, digital nomads can take their time when relocating or decide to return after this period. Three months is plenty of time itself to spend weekends day-tripping to neighbouring towns and logging off work in time for an evening stroll along the Vltava River. Travel around 29 countries in Europe’s Schengen area too, without needing an additional visa.
