While U.S. carriers have not flown to Venezuela in years, airspace restrictions following strikes in the region are leading airlines to cancel flights to popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean.

U.S. airlines started canceling flights to the Caribbean Saturday after the FAA ordered all aircraft to avoid Venezuelan and parts of Caribbean airspace.

The restrictions came as the Trump administration conducted strikes in the region that led to the removal and capture of Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro.
