A PACKING pro has revealed the clever way to fit more in your suitcase without making everything creased.

Packing for a big trip can baffle many travellers due to the various rules imposed by airlines around the world.

Most people seek to be efficient with their packing but it can be easier said that done. Particularly as many men leave packing until the last thing.

Now travel experts have offered their thoughts on how to pack like a professional.

Ian Bradley, 38, speaking to the New York Times, said that he favoured an extra-large L.L. Bean Adventure Duffel bag for travelling.

Hitha Palepu, 39, a New York-based author who wrote “How to Pack: Travel Smart for Any Trip” preferred a rolling hard suitcase to a soft duffel.

New York-based artist Laila Gohar, 35, said the roller by German brand Rimowa was a “worthy investment.”

Hitha Palepu singled out the hard-shell suitcases by the American brand Béis.

She said: “They have the best in-suitcase compression, a really solid construction and a padded handle for dragging through the airport.”

New York-based chef and author Andy Baraghani, 34, said the Béis Aluminum Edition felt “indestructible.”

Hitha advised travellers to pack clothes with viscose or Lyocell blends because they were are less likely to crease. She also singled out men’s non-iron button-down shirts from Uniqlo.

London-based creative director Alex Eagle, 40, recommended suits because of their versatility.

For toiletries, Palepu recommended travel sized items which can be replenished.

For the actual process of packing, Palepu recommended getting in the largest items first.

She suggested layering the bottom of the bag with chunky sweaters. A thin coat can be placed on top of them if you choose to take one.

Suit jackets can be packed into a square along the seams, she said.

Fold shirts and tops along the seams, to cut down on wrinkles, and lay these on top of the rolled pieces.

Style Sisters have teamed up with Premier Inn to reveal their top 25 packing tips.

These include writing a list, checking ahead to see what essentials hotels already have and packing delicate items in your shoes.

The handy ‘how-to’ style video features Charlotte Lilly and Charlotte Reddington offering advice on how to pack efficiently.

The Style Sisters said: “It’s always useful to plan ahead when travelling for work or leisure to check what hotels provide – this can avoid you having to squeeze in the likes of toiletries or hairdryers.

“We typically pack in order of shoes, clothes and then toiletries and also advise putting water-resistant materials around the edge of a case, such as a waterproof coat, to protect against any spillages.

“You’ll never regret writing a list and packing in advance, we’d prep a week before for a two-week holiday.

“When it comes to travelling for business, there has definitely been a shift in work attire and we’re typically more casual now, it’s ideal to buy key staple pieces to dress up or down.”
