3 UAE Visa Routes for Expats Without Employment or Business - VisaGuide.News  VisaGuide.World

Each year, foreign nationals head to the United Arab Emirates for different purposes, with tourism being among the main ones. In addition to being eligible to visit the territory, internationals can also choose to reside in the UAE through the country’s residence visa program.

Foreign citizens are eligible to stay in the United Arab Emirates without a job or business, under three kinds of visas: remote work visa, real estate investor visa, and UAE retirement visa, VisaGuide.World reports.

Remote work visa holders are eligible to stay and work remotely in the United Arab Emirates. Such a visa is valid for a period of one year and permits remote workers to sponsor their family members in the UAE. Among the requirements for this visa include the following ones:

  • Proof of employment, such as a letter from the employer, a contract or proof of freelance work
  • Proof of a monthly income of $3,500(or its equivalent in a different currency)
  • The intended duration of stay
  • Passport within a minimum of six months’ validity
  • Health insurance covering their residency in the UAE

On the other hand, the real estate investor visa can be acquired either through a self-sponsored residence visa for two years or by applying for the Golden Visa, which is valid for a period of ten years, depending on how much money people have invested in UAE real estate.

Persons can apply for the Property Investor Visa through the Dubai Land Department’s (DLD) Cube Center if the spouse jointly owns property worth at least Dh750,000 or equal amounts of property.

The Golden Visa Scheme gives wealthy foreigners the opportunity to acquire residency by financially contributing to the UAE and meeting the needed requirements, among them:

  • Buy a home of at least Dh 2 million ($544,531.81)
  • Purchase a property with a loan from specific local banks

As for the UAE retirement visa, it can be acquired for retirees above the age of 55 years. Persons with the above-mentioned age are eligible to apply for a long-term visa of five years.

Requirements to get a retirement visa include the following ones:

  • They must be 55 years of or more at the time of retirement
  • They should have worked for not less than 15 years inside or outside the UAE
  • They should own a property or properties of more than Dh1 million
  • Own financial savings of over Dh 1 million or have a monthly income of Dh20,000
  • They should provide bank statements for the last six months

Those who plan to travel to the UAE can do so by using other kinds of visas as well depending their purpose, among them student, work, and family visas as well.
