The Trendiest Destinations This Summer Are Also the Cheapest
2 min readEven though the price of airfare is down by more than 5% this year compared to last summer, some of us are still skipping going out to restaurants and even cutting back on groceries in order to afford traveling this summer. And while planning a cheap trip isn’t the easiest thing to do this late into the game, there are still a few locations where you can visit that have lower-than-average ticket prices.
According to new data from Expedia, the following five travel destinations are still offering some affordable flights for summer travel during the summer’s two remaining major holiday weekends: the Fourth of July and Labor Day. Expedia found that average flight prices for these destinations are still under $500 each. Here they are, for each holiday:

3. Fort Lauderdale

Expedia also had some fresh insights on the top trending destinations, based on flight searches, for this summer. Here are the most popular international and domestic destinations, based on Expedia search data. the good news? You’ll notice a lot of crossover between the list of trending destinations and those still offering (relatively) affordable flights for this summer:
