Delta flyers hoping to get to some popular warm-weather getaways will have a few new options this winter thanks to a batch of new routes that go on sale Saturday morning.

According to Delta, the airline will begin serving the following routes to the Caribbean and Costa Rica once per week on Saturdays this coming winter.

  • Detroit (DTW) to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos (PLS) starting Dec. 21
  • Boston (BOS) to Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) starting Jan. 11
  • New York (JFK) to Antigua (ANU) starting Jan. 11
  • New York (JFK) – St. Kitts (SKB) starting Jan. 11

All four flights connecting the northern U.S. to warm-weather hotspots will run seasonally through April 13, 2025. JFK to Antigua is the only one of the four that Delta previously operated.

Detroit will be the fifth city serving Turks and Caicos on Delta. Currently, Delta flies there from Atlanta (ATL) all year round, with winter flights from Boston (BOS), Minneapolis (MSP), and New York (JFK).

Delta also already serves Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) with flights from Atlanta (ATL) and Los Angeles (LAX), as well as relatively new winter service from Minneapolis (MSP). The addition of Boston (BOS) will be the airline’s fourth route there. Delta also flies to San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) from ATL and LAX.

The Antigua (AUA) and St. Kitts (SKB) routes from JFK will supplement existing Delta service from Atlanta.

Along with the additional Caribbean and Costa Rica routes, Delta also said it would reschedule one of its funkier routes flying across the Atlantic Ocean this year.

Starting Oct. 26, Delta will resume its daily service between Tampa (TPA) and Amsterdam (AMS) for the winter season. Delta already operates Amsterdam (AMS) flights from all of its major U.S. hubs, as well as close by Orlando (MCO) during the winter months. Likely, this flight is more aimed at flying Europeans to Florida during the winter season than it is taking Floridians over to Amsterdam this winter.

This eyebrow-raising flight is unusual because the airline rarely operates outside its major hub cities, from which Delta does most of its long-haul flying. The new addition will join the Orlando (MCO) to Amsterdam (AMS) route as the only long-haul routes that don’t touch a Delta hub city like Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Detroit (DTW), Los Angeles (LAX), Minneapolis (MSP), New York (JFK), or Seattle (SEA).

The route will be serviced by an A330-300 aircraft with Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Comfort Plus, and economy.

Like the warm-weather routes, the TPA-AMS flights will also go on sale Saturday, May 4, with the seasonal flight ending on April 13.

Bottom Line

Delta will operate three brand-new routes and resume two others this winter to complement its winter schedule in 2024 and 2025.

The airline will run nonstop flights between Detroit (DTW) and Turks and Caicos (PLS), Boston (BOS) and Costa Rica (LIR), New York (JFK) and Antigua (ANU), and New York and St. Kitts (SKB) as well as restarting its unusual Tampa (TPA) to Amsterdam (AMS) service this fall.
